Summer has come and gone so quickly.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. The lodge has been busy and needs your attention. We need more members to be involved.

On Sunday August 17th I attended the East District Picnic at Camp Moore. Closter was well supported including Lisa Bailey, Al and Deneen Kanze, Haropolous, Joe Grey, Jim Riccuti, and of course running the show Tom Grady. If you have never been it would make you proud. All of the elks energies are creating a wonderful experience for the kids.

On August 23rd the annual Ray Bush Pig Roast was held. A fantastic job of running and organizing the event by Sal, Kenny Brueig, and Joe Voto. While it was well attended it would have been nice to see more Closter members there.

At the August 20th meeting four new members were brought into the lodge. Congrats and welcome to Russell Carpanini, Joe Rolan, Joe Karach, and John Dunleavy.

Starting in September we are going back to two meetings a month. This is coming from the grand lodge and was approved at the Anaheim convention. No longer will individual lodges have the option of meeting once. So we will be meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday except for December, July and August. Personally I liked one meeting a month but it is what it is.

On Oct 5th Hackensack is having their annual Columbus Day parade. The East District will be marching and I would like to see a strong showing from Closter. There will be a signup sheet at the lodge and see Paul Haropolous for more info. It starts at 11am followed by a street festival on Main St. Should be a fun afternoon.

Please check the bulletin for upcoming events. Better yet come on down for a libation and see our bulletin board i9n the lodge.
