The Flag charge was held in Tenafly on the 24 th.Tenafly lodge were great hosts. Ridgefield Parkwere the winners (SURPRISE!) and we unfortunately finished sixth. I picked a bad time for a brain cramp. We will be having only one meeting this month due to Thanksgiving. At this meeting we will be bringing in four new members. As you know Bingo followed the meal and we were able to turn in $165 from Bingo. As can tell we were able to raise a total of $708.00 forour lodge. I thank my help in the kitchen. Thanks Paulie H, Al Daly and my wife, Pat. I also thank the Bingo Bill Connolly for calling the Bingo Games. On a disturbing note one of our guests left a digital camera that was not turned in. FROM THE DESK OF THE SECRETARY The following were elected into membership at our regular meeting on Wednesday ,October 22. Warren,Catherine & Annmarie Schryver. These new members along with Michael Congiustoi who was elected last month will be scheduled for to attend an indoctrination class and will be initiated at our next meeting. Reminder Officers in Tuxedoes & members in jackets for initiation. I also have an application from Gregg Scaglione, proposed by Joe Gray. I have also received an application for reinstatement from Frederick Wann. These will be turned over to the investigating committee and if approved will be voted on at the next meeting. I have received two requests for Certificates of Release. One from Nimrod S. Goering Jr., the other from George Bennett. Special Needs Children. The District Picnic is behind us. Menu includes Soup, Penne Als Vodka with Shrimp & Dessert $15.00 Bingo to Follow The Closter Elk’s Lodge # 2304 is holding their annual hoop shoot contest for all youngsters between the ages of 8-13. in the Northern Valley area. Age is determined by a Childs age on April 1, 2009. The contest will be held at the Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest gym on November 22nd from 10am-12pm. There is no fee to participate. Boys and Girls have separate contests. Registration starts at 10 am in the older gym. Times for the various age groups are as follows • 8 or 9 as of April First 2008 (From 10:00-11:00)• 10 or 11 as of April First 2008 (From10:30-11:00)• 12 or 13 as of April First 2008 from (11:00-12:00)If you can’t make the time slot come anytime between 10am and 12:00pm Winners will be announced on November 22nd . Trophy presentationswill be made during half time of a varsity basketball game. Winners in each category are eligible to continue on in state and in the national contest which has the final held in Springfield Ma. Home of the NBA Hall of Fame. Several participants last year made it to the New Jersey State finals.
